GAMSAT test centres
ACER runs test centres in five countries. Only two of the three sections are sat in one of them, and the map of centres is no longer the map of who can sit the exam.
Before you look for a centre near you
Written Communication is remote-proctored for every candidate, in every country, at every sitting. No test centre is involved in it at all. A centre is only needed for Section 1 and Section 3, and those are sat about three weeks after the writing sitting.

GAMSAT runs across two sittings approximately three weeks apart. Written Communication is remote-proctored; Sections 1 and 3 are sat at a test centre.
This is the single most common misunderstanding about GAMSAT logistics. If you are booking travel or accommodation, you are booking it for the second sitting only.
The five delivery countries
Two of them have centres but no universities that use the score.

New Zealand and Singapore are delivery locations, not admissions markets. Candidates there sit locally and apply to Australia, the UK or Ireland. Sitting in Singapore also carries an overseas levy of A$208 on top of the registration fee, because Singapore is outside the three countries ACER prices in local currency.

Where the centres were in 2026
Cities, not addresses — ACER allocates the venue, and the list changes every sitting.

Two live conflicts between ACER's website and ACER's own booklet
We are flagging these rather than quietly picking one, because both sources are ACER and they do not agree:
- Ireland, September 2026. ACER’s registration page lists Mayo as the fourth Irish venue. The 2026 Information Booklet lists Sligo in that slot.
- Australia, September 2026. ACER’s registration page adds Box Hill (VIC) and Dandenong. Neither appears in the booklet’s list.
The website is the later-dated source and ACER reserves the right to add or cancel locations after registrations open, so we follow the website above. But the booklet is the document that forms part of the binding agreement, and it disagrees. If either venue is the one you are relying on, confirm it with the GAMSAT office before you register.
We do not publish street addresses. ACER does not release them in advance for every city, and where a city has more than one venue you are allocated automatically and cannot choose. Your specific venue arrives on the Admission Ticket, released roughly two weeks before the test-centre window. Admission Tickets are not issued for remote sittings.
ACER also states that not all venues operate on every day of a test window, that some have limited session availability, and that there is no wait-list for centres, sessions or dates. Availability is settled at the close of late registrations and not reopened. The current list for any given sitting is on ACER’s registration page.
If there is no centre you can reach
Alternate Delivery lets you sit Sections 1 and 3 remotely as well — on two grounds only.
ACER reviews a request to sit the test-centre sections remotely if either:
- you live more than three hours’ drive from a test centre listed in the Information Booklet, or
- you live in a country where no test centre is offered.
Both require supporting documentation, and it has to be notarised— a utility bill, tenancy agreement or driver’s licence, or a notarised statutory declaration. ACER states plainly that personal statements which are not officially notarised will not be accepted, and that documents in another language need a certified English translation.
Preference is not a ground. Nor is travel: ACER says remote delivery of Sections 1 and 3 will not be offered if you are on holiday, or if your preferred location, date or session has reached capacity. Approval is notified separately, and a registration confirmation email does not mean your request was approved. Booking a remote session with ProctorU for these sections without approval gets it cancelled automatically.

The no-show fee applies to the remote sitting
Because everyone sits Written Communication remotely, everyone is exposed to this one. Missing a booked remote session without rescheduling in time costs A$150 / €90 / £76. One no-show is permitted per test session, and you must contact the GAMSAT office within 12 hours of your original session to rebook.
A genuine technical failure is not treated as a no-show — ACER lets you reschedule free of charge in that case. Rescheduling fees outside those scenarios exist, but ACER does not publish the amounts and we will not guess at them. Full fee detail is on what GAMSAT costs.
The centre map is not the market map
This distinction did not exist before remote delivery, and most sites have not caught up.
It used to be true that the list of test centres was effectively the list of countries you could sit GAMSAT from. It is not true now. Because Alternate Delivery covers candidates in countries with no centre, a candidate in a sixth, twelfth or fortieth country can sit the whole exam and apply with the score.
What that changes in practice: the competition for places is drawn from a wider pool than the five-country centre list suggests, and if you are outside those five countries your planning problem is the documentation deadline, not the flight. Requests must be in by the close of standard registrations, with a late-approval window up to the close of late registrations and nothing considered after it.

Where can I sit the GAMSAT?
ACER runs test centres in five countries: Australia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Singapore. Those centres are used for Section 1 and Section 3 only.
Within those countries the cities change from sitting to sitting, so the list above is a record of 2026 rather than a promise about your sitting. If you are outside all five countries you can still sit GAMSAT, through an approved Alternate Delivery request.
Can I sit the GAMSAT at home?
Partly, and unavoidably. Written Communication is sat at home under remote proctoring by every candidate — there is no test-centre option for it.
Sitting Section 1 and Section 3 at home as well requires approval, granted only if you live more than three hours’ drive from a centre or in a country without one, and both grounds need notarised documentation.
Can I choose which venue in my city I am allocated?
No. Where a city has more than one venue ACER allocates you automatically, and you find out which on the Admission Ticket about two weeks before the test-centre window. Candidates granted reasonable adjustments may also be reallocated to a different venue, date or session.
What happens if a test centre is cancelled?
ACER states it may need to add or cancel testing locations after registrations open, and that there is no wait-list for centres, sessions or dates.
