How much does the GAMSAT cost?
Registration is one fee among roughly a dozen. Here is the complete published schedule for the 2026 cycle, in all three currencies ACER charges in — and the two fees whose amounts ACER does not publish at all.

The short version
Sitting GAMSAT once, on time, with no complications, costs A$568, €378 or £296 depending on where you sit. Registering late, deferring, changing country or missing a remote session each add a separate charge. These are 2026 figures; ACER has not published a 2027 schedule.
The registration fee
ACER quotes three currencies. Everyone sitting outside Ireland and the UK is charged in Australian dollars.

Payment is by credit card only — Mastercard or Visa, processed through Stripe. If you are outside Australia and paying in AUD, the exchange rate at the time of booking applies.
The registration fee includes a copy of the online Practice Test A e-book. That is the one piece of official preparation material you get without paying extra, and a surprising number of registered candidates never open it.
Every other fee ACER publishes
Most candidates pay only the registration fee. These are the charges that appear when something changes.

The overseas levy is ACER’s own wording: “an additional charge of $208 AUD for test takers registered to sit GAMSAT at a test centre outside of Australia, Ireland or the UK” — in practice that means Singapore and New Zealand candidates, since those are the other two countries with test centres.
Late registration is the fee most people trip over, because ACER closes standard registrations roughly ten days before late registrations, and the late fee cannot be waived. Both deadlines are hard: no registration is accepted after the late close, and there is no wait-list.
Two fees ACER does not publish an amount for
Both of these exist and are confirmed in ACER’s own documents, but no figure is given anywhere. We will not estimate them.
- Remote-proctoring rescheduling fee.The booklet says a reschedule made after the self-reschedule deadline “will be subject to a rescheduling fee”. Amount unverified. This is a separate charge from the published no-show fee.
- Alternate Delivery late approval fee.Applies to a fully-remote request submitted between the close of standard and late registrations. ACER’s remote proctoring guidelines confirm the fee exists. Amount unverified.
If you need either, ask the GAMSAT office for the figure before you commit.
What it realistically costs
Adding the common combinations together, so you are not doing arithmetic across three tables:

Nothing here covers preparation. That is the part with genuinely unbounded cost — commercial courses in this market run into four figures, and ACER’s published position on all of them is that GAMSAT preparation courses are “not recommended, authorised by, or in any way associated with” ACER or the graduate-entry schools. The only official materials that exist. You do not need to be registered to buy them.

ACER also publishes free preparation videos and a free online platform demo, both accessible without buying anything. Its stated reason for producing the videos is worth quoting: “after observing some doubtful claims made by GAMSAT commercial preparation courses, YouTubers and others”.
Preparation materials are non-refundable and access is granted on payment, so no cooling-off period applies to them.
Why we don't buy them
We do not purchase ACER’s practice materials. Buying them binds the purchaser to a personal, non-commercial licence, and accepting that licence would compromise the clean-room position that makes our own questions defensible. Refunds and deferrals
- 14-day cooling off. A full refund is available if requested within 14 days of registering. After that, and up to the close of late registrations, the refund administration fee is deducted. After the close of late registrations, refunds can only be requested inside that same 14-day window.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, in the currency you paid in. Preparation-material access included with registration is withdrawn.
- Deferral is allowed once only, and only to the following March or September sitting. The administration fee escalates in three steps depending on how late you ask.
- Deferred registrants keep access to included preparation material for 12 months from the original registration date.
- Reasonable adjustments do not carry over on deferral — you must reapply for every sitting.
These are 2026 figures
ACER has not published a 2027 fee schedule. There is no 2027 Information Booklet, and 2026 fees do not carry over automatically. Anything you read quoting 2027 GAMSAT fees is not sourced from ACER. We will update this page when the schedule appears.
Common questions
How much does GAMSAT cost?
A$568 in Australia (including GST), €378 in Ireland and £296 in the UK for the 2026 cycle. Registering during the late period adds A$114 / €83 / £71, and sitting at a test centre outside those three countries adds an A$208 overseas levy.
Is there a concession, bursary or fee waiver for GAMSAT?
ACER publishes no concession rate, bursary or hardship scheme, and states plainly that the late registration fee cannot be waived. This is a genuine difference from the UCAT, which does run a bursary, and it is one of the most common complaints candidates raise. If a page offers you a GAMSAT discount code, it is not offering a discount on the ACER fee.
Can I get a refund if I cannot sit the test?
A full refund is available within 14 days of registering. After that and before late registrations close, you pay the refund administration fee (A$99 / €61 / £51). Once the refund deadline passes, refunds are not processed. Deferring to the next sitting is the usual alternative and carries its own fee.
Do I have to buy ACER’s practice materials?
No. Registration already includes the Practice Test A e-book, and ACER’s preparation videos and platform demo are free. Everything else is optional. Our free practice test is free, timed and scored, with no email required.
What does GAMSAT cost if I have to sit it more than once?
There is no discount for repeat sittings and no limit on attempts. Each sitting is a fresh full registration fee — two sittings in Australia in one year is A$1136. Scores from different sittings are directly comparable, and admissions bodies use your best set unless you tell them otherwise.
