GAMSAT dates and registration deadlines

Written Communication is remote-proctored for everyone, roughly three weeks before the test-centre sitting. Sections 1 and 3 are sat together in one test-centre session, in that order, with a 30-minute break between them. Each test day runs two sessions, morning and afternoon; not every venue operates on every day of the window.

ACER’s hard cut-off, verbatim: “All venue and remote proctoring arrangements are finalised at the close of late registrations. No registrations will be accepted after this deadline; there is no wait-list for seats.”

One thing you can rely on for planning: ACER states that “registrations open during the advised month, it is not possible to provide a specific date”. So “November 2026” will not become “12 November” in advance; the portal simply opens at some point that month. Watching the registration page during the advised month is the only reliable approach.

September 2026 registrations are already closed, so if you are reading this now, March 2027 is the sitting you are planning for. That gives you the whole of the northern autumn to prepare before registration even opens — which is more runway than most candidates get. Our study plan works backwards from a sitting whose date you do not yet know, which is the situation almost everyone is actually in.

Nothing is published. No dates, no registration months, no deadlines. ACER works one test year ahead, so September 2027 information is expected alongside the 2027 Information Booklet — which does not exist yet. The 2027 booklet URL returns a 404 as at 28 July 2026.

The same applies to 2027 fees. The 2026 schedule does not carry over automatically, so anything quoting 2027 GAMSAT prices is guessing. See GAMSAT cost for the verified 2026 figures.

ACER states that Sections 1 and 3 are delivered in test centres in Australia, Ireland, the UK, New Zealand and Singapore. “Rest of World” is not a venue — it is the pathway for candidates in countries with no test centre, who go through the Alternate Delivery process to sit remotely.

The venue list below is the September 2026 one, and it does not carry over: ACER rebuilds it each sitting and reserves the right to add or cancel locations even after registrations have opened. Two further rules catch people out:

• If a city has more than one venue, you are allocated automatically and cannot choose.
• There is no wait-list for test centres, sessions or dates. If your preferred combination is full at the moment you register, it is gone.

Candidates granted reasonable adjustments may be reallocated to a different venue, date or session from the one they registered for.

ACER publishes a month, not a date: “Results for GAMSAT March will be released in late May 2026 and the results for GAMSAT September will be released in mid November 2026.” No exact calendar day is given in advance, which is a recurring source of frustration each cycle.

Results arrive by email notification and are only accessible online through your ACER account. No hard copies are posted, and only one Statement of Results is issued per candidate per cycle. Statements stay in your account for four years — note that this is document retention, not score validity, which is four years in Australia but two in the UK and Ireland.
