RCSI’s much-quoted 60 is a non-EU interview-invitation minimum, not an admission cutoff. The EU admitted minimum for 2025 entry was 58.

What is distinctive about RCSI
RCSI publishes two numbers that get conflated constantly. The 60 — and the MCAT 503 offered alongside it — is the minimum to be invited to interview as a non-EU applicant. The 58 is the lowest score actually admitted from the EU pool for 2025 entry. Different pools, different meanings, different years.
EU applicants cannot use the MCAT at all. That alternative exists only on the non-EU route, which runs directly or through Atlantic Bridge; EU applicants go through the CAO.
The academic requirement is a gate rather than a ranking input. A 2H1 is required, and a first-class degree is worth exactly the same as a 2H1 — which pushes all of the differentiation onto the GAMSAT and the interview.

RCSI publishes 2 separate figures. Quoting one of them as “the RCSI cutoff” without naming which is how the wrong number ends up in circulation.

What GAMSAT score do you need to apply to RCSI?
