What is distinctive about ScotGEM
ScotGEM departs from ACER’s 1:1:2 weighting explicitly, and it is the only non-Australian institution in this dataset confirmed to do so. Everything follows from that: its cutoff of 50 for 2025 entry is an unweighted 50, and setting it beside a weighted 50 elsewhere compares two different quantities.
Its section rule is unusual in the other direction. No section below 42, rather than the near-universal 50. A profile with one weak section that would be ineligible at Liverpool or Swansea can still clear ScotGEM.
The programme is delivered jointly by St Andrews and Dundee. Academic entry is a first or 2:1 in any discipline plus school-level science, through UCAS by 15 October, and it is open to home and RUK fee status only.

Does ScotGEM publish a GAMSAT cutoff?
Yes. 50 for 2025 entry. A cutoff is the lowest score actually admitted or invited to interview in that round, so it moves with the applicant pool every year.
What GAMSAT score do you need to apply to ScotGEM?
An overall score of at least 50, and at least 42 in each section. No GPA minimum is published. These are eligibility floors. Meeting them does not make you competitive.
