Melbourne does not use the GAMSAT overall score at all, and its Doctor of Dental Surgery sets no minimum GAMSAT score whatsoever.

What is distinctive about Melbourne
Melbourne says it plainly: it “does not use the GAMSAT ‘overall score’ in selection”. The DDS works from an average of the three sections instead. If you have been sizing Melbourne up against the weighted number on your ACER statement, you have been comparing the wrong quantity.
The DDS is stranger still. It has no minimum GAMSAT score and no section minimum — do not carry over the 50 that applies to the MD. Selection is 50% WAM and 50% GAMSAT, and the DDS has no rural pathway and no bonded pathway at all.
The MD keeps a section floor of 50 and a GPA of 5.0 weighted 1:2:2, shortlists for interview 50:50 against GPA, then ranks finally on MMI 50%, GPA 25%, GAMSAT 25%.
Melbourne also runs three separate routes that waive the GAMSAT — the MD Rural Pathway where Melbourne is your sole preference, the North Western pathway for Victoria University graduates, and Indigenous entry. That is more waiver routes than any other institution in this dataset.
